                                                             Pepper powder -2 tbsp

                                                             Jeera/Cumin powder - 1 tbsp

                                                                   Cocum-3 small pieces
                                                                   Coconut milk - 1/2 cup

                                                             Steps

Now lets start the preparation,

1. First clean the fish and marinate well with chilly powder, turmeric, pepper, lime juice and salt and keep for    30 mins or 1 hr.

Make sure the masala and lime goes inside too..

Meantime we will prepare the gravy.

2.Splutter some mustard seeds in oil. Then add the chopped ginger, garlic and green chillie and fry till the raw
smell is gone. Now add the chopped onion and fry till its golden brown. Then add the tomato cubes and the curry leaves and let it boil till the gravy thickens.

3.Next we add the masala. Add chilly powder, pepper, cumin powder, corriander powder and salt.Once the raw smell is gone, add half the coconut milk and let the gravy thicken.

4.Add the cocum soaked in water..Finally add the remaining coconut milk and let the gray thicken well.

The gravy is ready now!!!

5.Next we need to shallow fry the marinated fish .Make sure it's only half cooked!!

6.Once the fish is done, place the banana leaf over a low flame for a few seconds. This is done so that leaves won't tear/break easily!

7.Now place half the gravy on the coconut leaf and then place the fish over it.Also place gravy inside the fish
and then on the top of it.Make sure the fish is completely covered by the gravy.

8.Now cover the fish completely with the banana leaf and bake it well. You can use the same pan used for frying the fish.Cover with a lid so that the fish is well cooked and the gravy is well absorbed.

So there you go...yummy meen pollichathu is ready!!!Serve with rice and enjoy :)
